Juan Carlos Somolinos (Billyphobia)

Art director, advertising creative, multidisciplinary visual artist and illustrator born in Madrid. He is the only Spaniard artist who has won the prestigious award "Apple World Creative Talent Contest" in 2009 for "Bitácora", a work which also won third prize at the First International Festival of Fake Trailers "Teaserland".

Other awards in the field of graphic design, illustration, web and motion graphics support the career of this self-demanding autodidact artist of personal style, whose formation includes various Masters in editing and graphics for television, film montage and digital composition, graphic design, web design and advertising creativity. He has an extensive experience as a freelancer but has also been part of communication studies and agencies.

Billyphobia has a lengthy career as a D.J. of the Gothic movement since its inception in Madrid. He was dj for years at the legendary "Phobia" and has been in the cabins of several clubs in the gothic atmosphere both, as a guest and as a resident. Uncompromising defender of pure Gothic rock, he is selectively eclectic in other dark disciplines with guitar role. He has participated in meetings throughout Spain, Europe, Latin America and Asia. His motto speaks itself clear and loud: "No labels, no bastards. I am what I am also on decks".

He currently works as a creative at Gluly, and as a designer and freelancer Motionographer. He is the Art Director of the III Madrid Gothic Week and SGM Parties Official DJ.
