In its seventh edition, the Madrid Gothic Week extends its cultural offering thanks to the National Museum of Natural Science. SGM Science is a new space in which Science and Gothic and Horror Literature meet. We begin this new adventure with the following exhibition:
Strange creatures living in the National Museum of Natural Science (MNCN)
Date: October 26-31, 2015
Hours: 10-17 h Tuesday to Friday and Sunday | 10 to 20 h on Saturday
Venue: National Museum of Natural Science
C/ José Gutiérrez Abascal, 2 – 28006 Madrid

The MNCN preserves , for the indefinite future, the breath of creatures that have been attached to the Gothic Fiction since its inception. For the SGM, the Museum has selected some, placing them in the literary context in which are referred to.
DRAWING: We invite visitors to discover in the Museum’s collection other creatures related to Horror Fiction or fantasy that have not been included in the exhibition.
To participate, you just have to indicate the name of the creature, relate it to Gothic fiction, your email address, and place the text in an urn placed for this purpose. We also ask you to suggest us the darkest corner of the Museum. During the first week of December several copies of “Paura: Antología de terror contemporáneo” will be drawn. The list of winners will be published in the online magazine of the Museum: NaturalMente.
“Terror at the Museum”

Ghosts, spirits, murders … Many of the great works of fiction in Literature and film convert the museums of natural science in the scenario of gloomy stories. We will use proximity to Halloween night to do the more terrifyingly gastronomic visit in the history of the MNCN.
