Ana González-Rivas Fernández

holds a PHD in Philology, and has first degrees in both Classics and English from the Complutense University of Madrid. For her degree in English she received that university's "Extraordinary Graduation Prize". She has published a number of articles on English and classical literatures in academic and cultural journals. She has also participated in various national and international conferences. Her main interests relate to the classical tradition, Anglo-American Gothic literature and women's literature, and she has worked on authors such as Mary Shelley, Horace Walpole, George Eliot, Charles Robert Maturin, Edgar Allan Poe, James Barrie, etc. She is member of the research grupo "Historiografía de la literatura grecolatina en España", collaborates in the research group "ACIS: grupo de investigación de mitocrítica" and is part of the external examiners in Amaltea: Revista de mitocrítica.Her dissertation has been published under the title "Los clásicos grecolatinos y la novela gótica angloamericana: encuentros complejos" ("Greek-Roman classics and the Angloamerican Gothic Novel: Complex Encounters"), Complutense University Press, 2011.
